Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Linklaters have topped the UK and European M&A rankings by deal volume and value for the first three quarters of 2014.
Freshfields took the top spot for the value of deals advised on in both the UK and Europe, according to figures from Mergermarket. In the first three quarters of 2014, the firm acted on UK deals totalling $81.1bn (£50.4bn) and $266.9bn (£165.8bn) worth of European deals, climbing the value rankings from 12th in Europe and 13th in the UK in the same period last year.
