Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has made up two corporate lawyers in Hong Kong in its latest six-strong promotions round.

Joining the partnership as of 1 January 2015, those chosen include Christopher Bell who focuses on banking, credit and acquisition finance in Hong Kong, as well as private funds expert Adam Furber, who represents mostly asset management companies on their fund formations and operations.

Overall the promotions include five corporate lawyers and one litigator. This compares with 10 partner appointments announced in 2013, none of whom were based in Asia, and who worked across a mix of practice areas.

The firm has also appointed a London-based lawyer; corporate expert Clare Gaskell, who advises private equity and corporate clients on private M&A and public takeovers as well as equity capital markets transactions.

Last year's announcement did not include any London promotions.

The full list of new partners is as follows:

Matthew Einbinder – corporate (Houston )
Adam Furber – corporate (Hong Kong)
Clare Gaskell – corporate (London)
Peter Gilman – corporate (New York)
Sara Razi – litigation (Washington DC)
