Norton Rose Fulbright has raided CMS Cameron McKenna's London office for the fifth time in the last two years, with insurance sector head Timothy Ingham the latest partner to make the move.

Ingham is initially joining Norton Rose as a consultant. However, the firm said that this was only because it "wanted to move quickly" and added that it has every expectation that Ingham will be a partner "in early course".

James Bateson, global head of financial institutions at Norton Rose, said that Ingham's hire would extend the firm's European offering to the London insurance market.

"[Ingham] enjoys a reputation as a 'go to' person on complex, Europe-wide contentious and non-contentious insurance matters and delivering innovative solutions," Bateson commented. "The European insurance market remains the largest in the world and we continue to make strategic investments in this area."

Ingham's move is the latest example of Norton Rose poaching a CMS partner following the signing of finance partner Nigel Dickinson five months ago, private equity partner Richard Bull last July, insurance disputes partner Kirsty Hicks last June and insurance litigator Liam O'Connell in 2012.

Ingham relocated to CMS' City office after the firm shut its Hong Kong office in 2007. He previously spent ten years in the territory running the firm's Asia insurance practice.
