DWF chief executive and managing partner Andrew Leaitherland has been reappointed for a fourth three-year term.

Leaitherland (pictured), who stood in an uncontested partner election, was first appointed to the CEO and managing partner role in 2006.

During his tenure the firm's revenue has grown by 456% from £34m in 2005-06 to £189m in 2013-14m, while net profit has risen by 325% from £6m to £25.5m.

The figures have been boosted by a series of mergers and bolt-ons since Leaitherland took charge, including the acquisition of collapsed firm Cobbetts in 2013.

Leaitherland said of his reappointment: "We think there's a big opportunity to do things differently and to change clients' views of how astute legal services delivered in a different way can benefit their business."

DWF chairman Alan Benzie added: "DWF has achieved a phenomenal amount in the last decade under Andrew's strong leadership. We've made a number of strategic investments, in terms of our people, premises and technology, and the firm has a strong platform upon which we will continue to develop our people and our offering to support our clients in our chosen markets.

"It is with the full support of the board that Andrew will remain in post to take us forward as we continue to grow and strengthen the business."

Earlier this year DWF unveiled plans to double its London headcount to 600 staff. It moved its London staff into the City's 'Walkie Talkie' building in September.
