Jones Day has promoted three London lawyers to partner in its New Year partnership promotion round.

London-based banking and finance associates Emily Stew and David Fricker have been promoted in the latest round along with real estate lawyer Kathryn West.

Out of the 42-strong promotion round 16 of the new partners are female, accounting for 38% of the new intake at the firm. Jones Day's Washington office has seen the largest number of appointments with eight of its team being made up.

Sidley Austin has elected 32 lawyers to its partnership, with its London office seeing two made up.

The partner appointments will take effect 1 January 2015 with London based lawyers Patrick Harisson and Aparna Sehgal making partner within the firm's antitrust and global finance practices respectively. Sidley Austin's Chicago office received the largest number of promotions with six of its team joining the partnership.

Dechert has also announced new additions to its partnership with three out of the 11 promotions within the firm's London office.

Corporate lawyers Andrew Harrow and Patrick Lyons are set to join the partnership in the New Year alongside London litigation associate Caroline Black.

The New York office received the largest number of promotions with four new members joining the partnership in January in its litigation, finance and real estate and tax practices.

In Sidley Austin's promotions 48% of those joining the partnership are female while Dechert has only made up one woman to its partnership.
