Taylor Wessing's ten month search for a new permanent finance director has ended with the appointment of Deloitte's clients and markets division director of finance to the role.

Deborah Findlay, who joins Taylor Wessing on 16 March, was previously director of finance for Deloitte's tax practice, a division with revenue in excess of £400m and over 200 partners.

William Barnes, also a former Deloitte partner, has been serving as financial director on an interim basis since last April when previous FD Charlotte Beckett moved to Pinsent Masons.

Taylor Wessing managing partner Tim Eyles said: "Deborah has a strong background in financial analysis, strategic leadership and relationship building. Besides her evident skills and experience, she is inquisitive, determined and very personable – qualities she will doubtless apply to Taylor Wessing's benefit as our finance director."

The appointment follows two other senior management team appointments in January.

The firm brought in Eversheds' general counsel Angela Robertson as director of risk and general counsel-designate alongside former Deloitte technology director Kevin Harris as IT director.

Taylor Wessing's chief information officer Stuart Walters also moved to Olswang in October, he was the second senior manager to leave the firm in six months.
