Linklaters has relocated 10 finance support jobs to its low-cost services base in Warsaw as it seeks to build up the centre to replace an outsourcing contract terminated last year.

Ten support positions across its London and Colchester back office teams are in the process of being transferred to Warsaw.

Last year Linklaters set up a business services hub in Poland following the end of an outsourcing contract with business technology consultant Infosys.

The firm already has 70 people in Warsaw carrying out roles that were previously held by Infosys.

The 10 finance process jobs that are moving chiefly involve global invoice, travel and expenses processing. Some finance positions will remain in Colchester, which also houses some support roles including HR, IT and marketing. It also handles some paralegal-led volume legal work

Though it does not offer any legal services, the Warsaw office now also caters for client and contact data management and risk assistance.

The Colchester base is likely to handle more HR and marketing services work in the future given its close proximity to client contacts in London.

Linklaters said the decision to move the finance roles to Warsaw was to take advantage of the relative benefits of each centre.

There are currently no further plans to move any more jobs between the two centres, it is understood.

According to one partner at the firm, Linklaters considered sending some legal support work to Warsaw once the outsourcing contract finished, but decided against it.
