Olswang has expanded its London intellectual property (IP) practice with four lateral hires from Winston & Strawn who all joined in the past few days.

The hires include Gareth Morgan, who joins as IP partner and Richard Price, who joins as head of IP arbitration.

Morgan and Price were both recruited by Winston & Strawn in 2011 from DLA Piper and Taylor Wessing respectively, to work in the same roles.

Olswang has also hired two associates: Tim Robinson and Charles Hopper.

Olswang's interim CEO, IP partner Michael Burdon, said: "I have known Gareth and Richard for many years, and their team's outstanding track record in patent, trademark and passing off litigation and stellar reputation in the life sciences sector further strengthen the firm's unique IP and trademark practice and sector focus."

The firm's international IP practice has grown to more than 100 lawyers, patent and trademark attorneys.

Separately, Olswang has also promoted senior corporate partner Mark Bertram (pictured) as its new global head of corporate.

Bertram, who has worked at the firm since 2007 and been a member of the firm's board since 2013, has more than 25 years' experience advising a range of corporate clients specialising in media, communications and technology.

He most recently advised Tesco in January on selling its online video service Blinkbox to TalkTalk, along with its broadband business in a deal understood to be worth £5m.
