Norton Rose Fulbright has offered positions to 81% of its 26-strong intake of trainees as part of its spring intake.

The firm confirmed yesterday (24 February) that it had made offers to 21 trainees and all of them accepted to be kept on as newly-qualified solicitors.

Two trainees resigned while three others applied but did not receive offers.

The offer rate for its March qualifiers is up on its autumn intake when 77% of trainees were offered positions at the firm with all of them accepting.

News of Norton Rose's retention rate comes after a strong showing announced by the magic circle.

It is the second lowest rate announced so far after Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) which offered positions to 75% of its 20-strong intake in March.

Allen & Overy has posted the highest retention rate at 93%, with Linklaters and Clifford Chance keeping on 91% of their new qualifiers.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is keeping on 85% of its trainees in its March intake.

Slaughter and May offered positions to 92.5% of those applying, but only 88% of the total intake.
