Latham & Watkins and Sullivan & Cromwell are advising medical device companies Sorin Group and Cyberonics on a proposed $2.7bn (£1.75bn) merger that will see the combined business base its headquarters in London.

Latham is the primary advisor for Italy’s Sorin on the crossborder transaction with a corporate team led by New York partner Adel Aslani-Far, Silicon Valley partner Luke Bergstrom, London partner Richard Butterwick and Milan partner Maria Cristina Storchi. London partner Claire Keast-Butler is advising on capital markets matters with Chicago partner Roderick Branch.
