Kennedys has entered into a joint law venture (JLV) with Singapore firm, Legal Solutions.
The firm, which will operate under the name Kennedys Legal Solutions, has been granted a licence by the attorney general's chambers of Singapore.
Legal Solutions' seven directors and seven lawyers will join Kennedys' existing five partner office under the joint leadership of Kennedys' partner Julian Wallace and Legal Solutions' director Kevin Kwek.
The joint offering will see 30 lawyers operating out of Kennedys' office which specialises in litigation and dispute resolution work.
In December Kennedys hired a seven-lawyer aviation team for its Singapore and Hong Kong offices, six of which joined from Clyde & Co in Singapore, with one joining from Sydney based firm Norton White.
The firm's new JLV is the latest in a number of tie-ups between local and international firms in Singapore.
In February Withers entered a Formal Law Alliance agreement with Singapore's KhattarWong, taking on all of the firm's 26 partners in the process. Meanwhile late last year Herbert Smith Freehills formed a ‘best friends' relationship with three-lawyer Singapore firm Prolegis, whose single partner Ban Leong Oo previously worked for HSF in London.
Other firms known to be keen to secure a JLV in Singapore include Simmons & Simmons, which opened in Singapore in June 2013.
At the start of this year Kennedys announced a cooperation agreement with mainland China firm AnJie which has 24 lawyers working across offices in Beijing and Shanghai.
