BLM has made up six lawyers to its partnership, a quarter of the number that were promoted last year.

The insurance-focused firm promoted 24 partners last May on the back of the merger of Berrymans Lace Mawer and HBM Sayers that formed BLM.

Of the six partners made up this year, five are female.

The appointments were spread across three of the firm's 14 offices with three promotions in London, two in Southampton and one in Manchester.

BLM also promoted 27 lawyers to associate level in this year's round.

The associate promotions are spread across five of the firm's business streams, with 12 in claims solutions, 10 in large loss and technical, three in speciality and financial lines, seven in healthcare and commercial, and one in the firm's Ireland business stream.

BLM senior partner Mike Brown said: "We have made great strides over the past two years: two combinations, an office relocation and recruitment of some of the industry's leading figures. I know that to continue on this path and to move closer to achieving our vision we need to be supported by the best lawyers."
