Taylor Wessing and Clyde & Co have become the latest firms to announce their partner promotions, with Taylor Wessing making up five lawyers in the UK as Clydes appoints 13.
Taylor Wessing has promoted two women to partnership as part of its five-strong round, after last year announcing a three-strong all-male round. The promotions come as the firm moves towards an all-equity partnership on 1 May.
The firm has yet to announce its Germany promotions. Last year it made up seven across its bases in Hamburg, Berlin, Duesseldorf and Munich.
Taylor Wessing's London promotions, which take effect on 1 May, include two real estate lawyers, while patents; IT, telecoms and competition; and disputes and investigations gain one each.
In addition, five have been made senior counsel with one each in private client, corporate, real estate, patents and data protection.
Taylor Wessing is set to become an all-equity UK partnership in a move that will nearly double the number of partners with an equity stake in the firm.
Fifty-two of Taylor Wessing's 102 UK partners currently have full-equity status, with the remainder set to move into the equity on 1 May.
Meanwhile, Clydes has made up 13 lawyers to its international partnership including four in the City and one in Guildford.
The promotions are up from last year when Clydes promoted nine lawyers to partner, including five in London.
In addition to the five UK new partners, the firm is also making up one new partner in Europe, three in the Middle East and Africa, three in Asia-Pacific and one in the Americas.
By practice area, insurance and aviation have secured three new partners, while dispute resolution and corporate have two each. Marine and international trade, projects and commodities and transportation finance gain one each.
Five of the 13 promotions are female. Last year the firm promoted two women out of nine.
