Nearly half of CMS's partner promotions this year are female, the firm announced today, while Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co revealed that it had made up two women in its six-strong promotions round.
Eighteen of CMS's 39 new partners across Europe and the Middle East this year are women, accounting for 46% of the round.
Seven of the 10 promotions in the UK went to female candidates. Eighteen of the appointments are to partner roles in CMS Cameron McKenna, the firm's UK-registered partnership.
Other jurisdictions to see large numbers of appointments include Germany (6), the Netherlands (4) and France (4).
By practice area, corporate took the most new promotions with eight, followed by real estate with six.
By contrast, Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co has made up only two women in a six-strong partner promotions round this year.
Three of the partners will join the firm's 300-strong real estate practice, taking the total number of real estate partners at the firm to 45.
The other appointments fall across the corporate and dispute resolution sectors.
Five of the six new partners will be based in the Birmingham office, with one based in London, though all will work across both the Birmingham and City offices.
Overall the firm will have 182 partners once the promotions take effect on 1 May.
The number of promotions is one greater than legacy Wragge & Co made last year ahead of the May merger with legacy Lawrence Graham, and four more than 2013′s round.
Legacy Lawrence Graham also promoted five to its partnership ahead of the tie-up, two more than in 2013.
Legacy Wragge & Co operated an all-equity partnership, and it is understood that the firm is in the process of bringing more legacy Lawrence Graham partners into the joint equity of the merged firm.
