Linklaters has concentrated its partner promotions in its overseas offices as it increased the number of lawyers made up to partner to 23.

Fifteen of the promotions, which take effect on 1 May, are based outside London. In total the partner appointments span 12 jurisdictions across 14 offices, and cover nine practice areas.

However, London lawyers accounted for the single biggest block of new partners, with eight made up.

Mainstream corporate saw eight partner promotions, the most of any group.

Seven new partners – just over 30% of the total – are women.

Robert Elliott, Linklaters' chairman and senior partner, said: "Our class of 2015 partners are all extremely talented lawyers with deep knowledge of the industries in which they support clients. Their exceptional qualities will help us enhance our market-leading offering and outstanding client service."

The firm made up 21 partners last year, including seven in the City.

Twenty-four Linklaters lawyers were also promoted to counsel alongside the new partners.
