Norton Rose Fulbright has promoted 19 women to its partnership in a round focused on its corporate, M&A and securities practices, which represents nearly a third of the total.
The global promotions round included 51 lawyers, with women making up 37% of the total.
Last year Norton Rose promoted 46 lawyers, including 20 women, or 43% of the total.
The firm made up eight lawyers in Asia, four in Australia, nine in Canada, eight in Europe, nine in South Africa and 13 in the US.
The appointments encompassed 10 of the firm's practice groups including corporate, M&A and securities (15); banking and finance (11); and dispute resolution and litigation (11).
The number of London promotions has halved since last year's round when 10 joined the partnership. The firm appointed five City lawyers including Matt Hardwick in banking and finance and four others in dispute resolution and litigation: David Harris, Jason Hungerford, Katie Stephen and Charlotte Winter.
Peter Martyr, Norton Rose's global chief executive, said the newly promoted lawyers were part of the "the newest generation of [industry] leadership at Norton Rose Fulbright".
This year other firms have also made up larger numbers of women in a bid to retain female lawyers.
Weightmans and Mishcon de Reya have recently announced all-female rounds, while Slaughter and May fostered gender parity this year by promoting two women out of four appointments.
Meanwhile, Linklaters today (27 April) announced that it has appointed seven women to its partnership, just over 30% of the total, while Herbert Smith Freehills promoted nine women in a 21-strong round and women made up nearly half of CMS's 39-strong promotions.
Burges Salmon has also announced today that it has made up six new partners, with half of the new intake having started their careers with the firm as trainees.
The promotions round, which is 100% male, brings Burges Salmon's total number of partners to 81 as of 1 May.
The appointments are split across corporate finance, pensions, real estate, disputes and litigation and energy and utilities.
