Kennedys has made up three women as part of a four-strong partner promotions round.

The firm has appointed three lawyers to partner in the City and one in its Cambridge base.

The number of promotions is the same as last year, when it appointed three lawyers in London and one in Hong Kong.

Of this year's appointments, two specialise in liability issues, one specialises in clinical negligence and the other specialises in marine and shipping disputes.

Kennedys senior partner Nick Thomas said the promotions were a "testament to the hard work and dedication" the four had put in alongside their "commitment to clients".

He added: "While we continue to welcome talent from outside the firm, nurturing our people and ensuring they have the opportunity to develop their careers at Kennedys is key to the growth of the firm and our future success."

Insurance rival Clyde & Co made up 13 lawyers to partner this year including five in London. The number of global promotions was a significant rise on the nine lawyers the firm appointed last year.

Kennedys has been on an expansion drive in recent months.

It entered a joint law venture with Singaporean firm Legal Solutions in March before going on to tie up with a Russian firm earlier this month to open its first office in the country.

Kennedys also hired a 13-strong travel law team, including two partners, from rival Plexus Law in March.

Meanwhile, Bond Dickinson also announced its promotions for 2015 today. The firm has appointed three men to its partnership. Their expertise spans real estate, intellectual property and corporate finance. Two of the new partners are in Bond Dickinson's Bristol office and the other is in Newcastle.
