Olswang general counsel and partnership secretary Simon Callander is leaving the firm amid a shake-up of the leadership of the business.

Callander joined Olswang in November 2011 after working as an interim UK GC at consumer credit reporting agency Equifax.

He is leaving to join Addleshaw Goddard as partnership secretary and the firm's first general counsel before the end of September.

He was first appointed to the Addleshaw role in March this year but has been working through his notice period at Olswang.

A spokesperson for Olswang confirmed that Callander, who sat on Olswang's executive committee, would be leaving at the end of August.

She added: "We thank Simon for his contributions and wish him well."

No replacement for Callander has been announced.

There have been a number of changes to the leadership of Olswang over the last year.

Earlier this month, the firm elected a new chief executive officer seven months after former head David Stewart unexpectedly stepped down from the role half way through his term.

The firm appointed Paul Stevens, head of the intellectual property (IP) group, to the chief executive position for a three-year term. He took over from interim post-holder and IP partner Michael Burdon on 14 May.

The selection process saw Stevens emerge as the only nomination recommended by an independent committee, and he was subsequently endorsed by the firm's board. His nomination was uncontested and Stevens' position was confirmed by a partnership vote.

Earlier this year the firm's human resources director, Ffion Griffith, also left after working at Olswang for nearly 10 years.

Her LinkedIn profile reveals that she worked at the firm until March and that she is "seeking a role working as part of a small leadership team contributing to a clear and ambitious change agenda".
