Scottish Water has reappointed CMS Cameron McKenna and DLA Piper to its commercial legal panel following a five-month long tender race.

The utility provider also appointed Anderson Strathern and BLM as its advisers for litigation matters, but Simpson & Marwick lost its spot providing such advice.

Anderson Strathern and Lindsays were appointed to conduct conveyancing work, unseating Harper Macleod and Shepherd & Wedderburn, which have previously provided this advice.

Scottish Water's previous panels have all run for five years. It was originally thought that five-year contracts would be awarded to successful firms under the recently completed review, but the new appointments are for three years, with an option for the company to extend them for a further three years to coincide with its period of regulation, which runs from this year to 2021.

Both CMS and recent merger partner Dundas & Wilson have been regular advisers to Scottish Water since its inception in 2002, while DLA was first appointed to its panel in 2010.

Scottish Water also appointed two new solicitors to its commercial legal team.

Nicola Galbraith, previously a real estate associate with Tods Murray, joins along with MacRoberts construction solicitor Susan Hill. Both will report to senior commercial lawyer Ramsay Milne.
