The impact of Lehman's collapse on the global financial markets and the knock-on effect for law firms has been well documented. However, the impact on the junior corporate partners trying to build their careers and reputations when deal markets all but dried up is less so.
In our Generation Crunch feature, we spoke to those who have worked through the lean years to find out how the dearth of public M&A has affected the careers of more junior partners.
Meanwhile in Rising Stars, we highlight some of the up-and-coming names in the City across a host of UK and US firms, finding out about their defining career moments and thoughts about what it takes to succeed in challenging markets. The articles follow on from our previous feature looking at whether international law firms still need rainmakers.
Elsewhere, we looked to the continent to find out what's been happening at Olswang, breaking news that the firm has been downsizing in Spain, with the headcount reduction emerging after the firm's Berlin office quit to launch a base for US firm Greenberg Traurig.
We also unveiled the firms winning roles on Deutsche's legal roster, as well as some insight from the bank's global chief operating officer for legal and compliance into the process.
