Transfer window: latest moves for Osborne Clarke, White & Case, Eversheds and others
Withers, Pinsent Masons and Holman Fenwick Willan are also among those firms hiring people in recent weeks

Osborne Clarke has hired commercial lawyer Mark Taylor as a partner in its London office. Taylor joins form Hogan Lovells where he was a partner for seven year. His key areas of focus include IT projects, outsourcing and cyber security.
The firm has also elected partner Peter Clough as the new head of its Bristol office. Clough will take over form incumbent David Powell when he steps down in September. Clough has previously headed the firm's litigation practice and has sat on its executive board.
TLT has hired two partners from Lewis Silkin's social housing team. Real estate partner Linda Convery and social housing partner Gillian Bastow joined TLT in London on 3 August.
gunnercooke has hired two partners in Manchester and one in London. Saad Ahmed, formerly of Ward Hadaway and Hill Dickinson joins the firm in Manchester in its tax department. Real estate partner Benjamin Zatman has joined the firm in Manchester from BBS where he was a solicitor. Partner Shilpen Savani has joined from DWFM Beckman, he focuses on dispute resolution and employment law.
Withers has promoted five new members to its partnership, taking its total partnership to over 160 people. Three lawyers were promoted in London, family lawyer Brett Frankle, real estate lawyer James Martell and litigator Stephen Ross. Tax lawyers Giulia Cipollini and Vimala Snow were promoted in Milan and San Francisco respectively.
Holman Fenwick Willan has added Haydn Dare as a partner in its London office. Dare advises on financing and structuring energy, project finance and M&A transactions. His work at Holman Fenwick will particularly focus on Singapore and Indonesia.
Pinsent Masons has hired Charles Russell Speechlys' head of financial services Elizabeth Budd as a partner in its financial regulation group. Budd focuses on advising fund managers on UK and EU regulatory issues.
Gateley PLC has made appointments in its Leeds and Birmingham offices. Partner Benedict Gorner has joined the firm's employment team in Birmingham from DLA Piper. Partner Andrew Johnson has joined the firm's litigation team in Leeds. He was previously a partner at Watson Burton where he was head of commercial litigation.
White & Case has appointed a new partner to its financial institutions advisory group in Washington DC. Kevin Petrasic has joined the firm from Paul Hastings where he was a partner.
Eversheds has hired planning partner Morag Thomson from Marrons Shakespeares where she was a partner. She specialises in contentious and non-contentious planning matters and has acted for a number of major commercial and residential developers.
The firm has also strengthened its London real estate finance team with the hire of Linklaters banking managing associate Robert Ludwig from Linklaters. Ludwig joins as a partner.
Cooley has hired three patent attorneys from Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo in London. David Wraige, Jacqueline Ireland and Daniel Sellwood will establish Cooley's London patent practice.
DAC Beachcroft has lost the head of its national claims validation team to DWF. Lorraine Carolan has joined DWF as a partner and the firm's national head of counter fraud. Carolan has extensive expertise in defendant personal injury work, specifically focused on handling motor and casualty fraud.
Clyde & Co has hired David Wilkinson as head of the firm's intellectual property practice in the UK. Wilkinson joins Clydes from Stevens & Bolton, where he was also head of intellectual property. Wilkinson, who is also co-chair of The Intellectual Property Lawyers' Organisation, has more than 20 years' experience of handling disputes and transactions involving patents, trade marks, copyright, designs and confidential information in sectors as diverse as consumer goods, IT, media, telecommunications and life sciences.
The firm has also hired professional liability partner Scott Bertschi to join its Atlanta office. The former partner at Arnall Golden Gregory focuses his practice on providing coverage advice to clients regarding third party professional liability, including technology and media errors and omissions liability policies for domestic, London Market and international insurers.
Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Matthew Mulqueen as a partner in its energy and natural resources practice. Mulqueen, a Clifford Chance alumni, was previously counsel at Bracewell & Giuliani. He is a non-contentious construction and engineering lawyer with a focus on major energy and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally, with particular experience in the renewable energy sector.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
