Irwin Mitchell has announced that its revenue has climbed 4% to £210.6m in 2014-15.

In the year to 30 April 2015 the firm's revenue increased to £210.6m, up from £202.7m the previous year.

The firm also reported profit before tax of £18.1m, a 6% increase on its 2013-14 profit of £17.1m.

Irwin Mitchell announced that its business legal services division achieved "double digit revenue growth," while its personal legal services division grew by 2%.

Irwin Mitchell group chief executive Andrew Tucker said: "In 2013-14, we took very deliberate decisions to sacrifice a proportion of profit to invest even further in our business and we are beginning to see the return on those and earlier investments with both an increase in income and profit before tax.

"We have continued with our investment strategy during 2014-15 and this is evident not just in the acquisitions and partner hires that we have made, but in our investment in high profile marketing campaigns, our commitment to widening our UK-wide footprint with new office openings and further investment in our infrastructure."

The firm acquired private wealth firm Berkeley Law in November 2014, taking over its Mayfair and Kensington offices.

It also launched an alternative business structure (ABS) joint venture, IMe Law, with insurer esure in August 2014.

During the financial year the firm made 29 partner appointments and 10 partner promotions.
