DLA Piper has hired a three-partner construction team from Eversheds in Manchester.

Nigel Proctor will be joining DLA as a consultant, while David Moss and Paul Giles will join as partners.

The three originally worked together at Hammonds, a Squire Patton Boggs legacy firm. With their latest move they will re-join a number of their former Hammonds colleagues who had previously moved to DLA in Manchester.

Moss and Giles left Hammonds for Pinsent Masons legacy firm McGrigors, where Moss was head of the construction practice. They moved to Eversheds because of conflict issues that arose due to McGrigors' 2012 merger with Pinsent Masons. Proctor reunited with the two at Eversheds.

Proctor is a dual-qualified solicitor and chartered civil engineer who particularly focuses on advising on infrastructure projects in the waste, energy and transport sectors. Moss specialises in contentious construction matters in the civil engineering, energy and building sectors. Giles is also a contentious construction lawyer. His practice is centred on claims arising from the transport, energy and engineering industries.

David Gray, DLA's UK head of the litigation and regulatory group, said: "We are delighted to welcome David, Paul and Nigel to the firm. They are a top quality team with a strong UK and international reputation. They will be a considerable asset to the UK construction disputes team, as well as the firm's infrastructure, construction and transport sector, and their significant international experience will help develop both globally."
