Linklaters has hired consumer credit lawyer Jean Price from Barclays as counsel in its financial regulation group as exits from the global bank's legal team continue to mount.
Price joins Linklaters from Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, where she has been head of the financial services legal team.
Prior to joining Barclays, she was a partner and head of retail banking and consumer finance at CMS Cameron McKenna.
At Linklaters her primary focus will be advising clients on contentious and non-contentious consumer credit matters.
Peter Bevan, Linklaters global head of financial regulation, said: "Jean's appointment will further bolster our consumer credit capabilities at a time when banks and other providers are facing increased scrutiny of their books and their businesses."
Barclays has seen a string of exits from its legal team in recent months amid a restructuring process that aims to cut 19,000 jobs at the bank by 2016.
In January Barclays announced that general counsel for corporate and investment banking Judith Shepherd was stepping down from her post.
Since then there have been multiple senior in-house departures, including head of litigation Dave Hart, head of EMEA investigations and enforcement Jake McQuitty, head of corporate banking legal Joanna Carver, managing director of litigation and investigations Jonathan Peddie, investment bank EMEA general counsel Erica Handling and deputy group general counsel Michael Shaw.
In August the bank's head of M&A legal Khasruz Zaman announced that he would join Simmons & Simmons in September.
