Reed Smith has boosted its Asia practice with the addition of three lawyers, including two partners, across its Hong Kong and Singapore offices.
In Hong Kong the firm has hired Morrison & Foerster capital markets partner Gregory Wang whose practice focuses on outbound and inbound investment for clients in Hong Kong and mainland China.
He has advised on US equity offerings as well as Hong Kong listings.
In Singapore the firm has hired energy and natural resources partner Kohe Hasan from domestic firm Oon & Bazul alongside Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom counsel Calvin Chan who is joining the firm as a partner.
Hasan led Oon & Bazul's Indonesia and Indochina practice and has sector experience in infrastructure, energy, mining and commodities.
Chan focuses his practice on international arbitration and litigation and spent time as an associate at King & Spalding's New York office. He has expertise in the energy and natural resources markets in South East Asia.
Hasan and Chan are the firm's first Singaporean partners. The hires bring the firm's partner headcount in Singapore, where it opened in 2012, to nine.
Gautam Bhattacharyya, Reed Smith's Singapore office managing partner, said: "Our focus is to enhance our geographical reach and resources across Indonesia, the Indochina region and China. With Calvin and Kohe on board, we have an even stronger platform to do that."
