TLT has boosted its UK corporate and commercial offering with the appointment of a five-strong team from now defunct Manchester-based law firm Millbank Edge.

The team includes corporate partners Ian Roberts and Andrew Needham and commercial partner Pauline Cowie. They will be based in the firm's Manchester office.

They join TLT's growing national corporate and commercial teams which are currently 173-strong. Its clients include WHSmith and The Co-operative Group.

Commenting on the move, Cowie said: "TLT is one to watch in Manchester. We felt that the firm had a good fit with our practice areas and sectors but on a much larger scale. In a Manchester context, bringing the two teams together sets us shoulder to shoulder with some of our more established competitors in areas like corporate."

TLT has made a number of partner hires recently including corporate partner David Isaacson from Bevan Brittan and social housing partners Linda Convery and Gillian Bastow from Lewis Silkin.

Millbank Edge ceased trading on September 1st of this year. The two partners of Millbank Edge who were not part of the TLT move were Peter Southeran and Stephen Birchall, who have moved to Land Law and Hill Dickinson respectively.
