Clyde & Co regulatory disputes partner Julian Connerty has left to join Signature Litigation because of conflict issues.

He has now joined Signature as it is acting for RBS shareholders in a £4bn claim. The shareholders are suing the bank and several of its former directors claiming that they were misled into participating in RBS' £12bn rights issue in 2008, incurring significant losses as a result.

Connerty has joined the team working on the case. In addition to his experience in handling complex litigation and arbitration cases such as RBS, Connerty has experience in civil fraud and financial regulation.

Mishcon de Reya has recruited DAC Beachcroft planning chief Anita Rivera to head up its planning team. Rivera joined DAC in July 2014 from Reynolds Porter Chamberlain. She takes over from real estate associate Daniel Farrand.

The firm has also recruited King & Wood Mallesons IT director Simon Kosminsky as its chief information officer. Kosminsky had worked as IT director at KWM for 14 years.

Cycling retailer Halfords is currently recruiting a new general counsel and company secretary after current head of legal Justin Richards has left the role.

Richards joined the retailer from Kellogg's in April last year. He was director of legal affairs for two years at Kellogs prior to joining Halfords. Between 2008 and 2011 he was legal director at Reckitt Benckiser.

Crowell & Moring has hired DLA Piper M&A partner Jonathan Lisle to head its London corporate practice. His practice focuses on general private M&A across all sectors, and he also has particular experience in health care. He joined DLA in 2011 from CMS Cameron McKenna where he founded the firm's health care group.

Taylor Wessing's head of telecommunications Tracey Sheehan has joined Dentons as a partner in its technology, media and telecoms (TMT) team. The move boosts Dentons' London TMT team to over 40. Sheehan has particular expertise in European telecommunications regulation including competition and state aid aspects.

General counsel Vivienne King has left the Crown Estate after working for the business for 21 years. King currently holds the position of director of business operations as well as GC. As a result of a restructuring the two job roles will be split into two separate positions. It is not yet known who will take up the roles.

Brown Rudnick has hired employment law partner Nicola Kerr from King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) in London. Kerr was formerly head of KWM's employment practice for 15 years.

TMT partner Reg Dhanjal has moved from DAC Beachcroft to Pinsent Masons. Dhanjal is a telecoms specialist who was in-house at T-Mobile (now EE) between 2002 and 2010. He joined DAC Beachcroft in 2010 as partner.

Pinsent Masons has also appointed Sibylle Schumacher as a partner in its Munich office. Schumacher's practice focuses on litigation and international arbitration, particularly in the technology and financial services sectors. She was previously a partner in Fieldfisher's Munich office.

Gateley has strengthened its Leeds office with the hire of a partner from DWF. Corporate lawyer David Armitage was a partner at DWF between 2013 and 2015. He started his career at legacy Hammonds before joining now defunct Manchester firm Cobbets in 2010.

Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) has recruited banking and asset finance lawyer Stephen Marais as a partner in its London office. He was previously a partner at Ince & Co.

Meanwhile insurance partner John Barlow has moved from HFW's London office to its Dubai office. His move is aimed at expanding the firm's non-marine insurance and reinsurance practice in the Middle East.

O'Melveny & Myers has re-hired Eve Ellis as a partner in its London investment funds practice. Ellis joins O'Melveny from Mishcon de Reya in London where she was a partner and served as co-head of the funds and financial services group. She was previously a counsel at O'Melveny between 2007 and 2010 after which she was a partner at Charles Russell before joining Mishcons in 2014.

Eversheds consulting arm has made two hires into its financial services regulatory compliance team. Jeff Jones has been hired as head of Agile Compliance, the firm's contract offering for in-house compliance teams. He re-joins the firm from Blake Morgan where he was head of HR. Previously he worked in HR at Eversheds before leaving in 2011.

The firm has also appointed Mike Booth from Bovill as a regulatory director. He will focus on asset management, private banker and investment adviser compliance. Booth's previous roles include an eight-year stint at Deloitte.

Eversheds has also hired litigation partner Stuart Wortley from Pinsent Masons. He was formerly head of real estate litigation at Pinsents.

Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom has hired a new head of tax for its French office From Linklaters. Partner Thomas Perrot is expected to join Skadden's Paris office in November from Linklaters where he is a partner.

CMS Cameron McKenna has hired senior associate Satyen Dhana from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in London to join the firm as a partner in its competition practice. Dhana has previously worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Addleshaw Goddard has appointed Angus Gill as a partner in its London banking team. He joined the firm from Hogan Lovells where he was of counsel.

Partner Karim Maalioun has joined Squire Patton Boggs in its corporate practice. Maalioun was previously EMEA general counsel of ContourGlobal. He will be based in the firm's Paris office and will work closely with its energy and Africa groups.

The firm has also recruited construction partner James Duckworth, who has joined the firm from Nabarro in Sheffield. He particularly focuses on commercial property and infrastructure matters and will join the firm's Leeds office.

DAC Beachcroft has added a corporate partner to its Manchester office. Paul Ellaby has joined the firm from Ward Hadaway in Manchester where he was a partner. Ellaby has also spent time at Hill Dickinson, legacy Hammonds and Clifford Chance.

Dentons has added Nikolas Colbridge as a partner in its capital markets practice. He was previously a counsel in Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom's London office. His practice focuses public and private international equity, high yield, equity-linked and other debt offerings alongside high profile restructurings.

Watson Farley & Williams has hired Sebastian Wulff as a partner in its Frankfurt office. He focuses on debt capital markets and derivatives work. He joined the firm from German firm Noerr in Frankfurt.

Taylor Wessing has hired Peters & Peters business crime partner David McCluskey to join the firm's disputes and investigations team. McCluskey will work alongside the firm's corporate crime and fraud unit co-head's David de Ferrars and Tim Strong. He will specialise in international business crime investigations and regulatory litigation.

Baker & McKenzie has appointed an in-house lawyer at GE Capital Dyann Heward-Mills as a partner in its London data protection and privacy practice. At GE Capital she was global senior privacy counsel. Prior to joining GE Capital, Dyann spent five years at Linklaters as their senior privacy and communications lawyer.

Data protection and cyber risk lawyer James Mullock has joined Bird & Bird from Osborne Clarke, where he spent 19 years. Mullock joins Bird & Bird as a partner in the firm's international privacy and data protection group. His practice is a mix of data protection, cyber law and more general commercial work, including outsourcing. Mullock's practice at Bird & Bird will have a large data protection focus.
