One-year qualified Hogan Lovells associate Ghassan Sader was awarded Assistant/Associate Solicitor of the Year for his work acting for key firm client building materials supplier PPC.

Sader has been with the firm for four years and is based in the South Africa office, joining as a trainee and becoming an associate with the corporate group. He works predominantly with major firm clients including PPC, Bochumer Verein, Land O'Lakes, the Lessafre Group and Telkom SA.

He has taken a lead role on complex corporate M&A transactions, divestments, corporate finance and fund formations. In 2014, he was awarded the Hogan Lovells (South Africa) Associate Achiever Award. This internal award is nominated by the chairman of the South Africa office and given to the associate who has exceeded expectations and achieved a high level of work quality by embodying the firm's core values.

He is well-regarded by the firm's other offices and was recently invited to attend the firm's LLM programme in London, normally targeted at associates who have more than five year of post qualification experience.

In addition, Sader plays a significant role in the business development activities of the firm including taking a role in the development of the firm's 'Doing business in South Africa' manual.
