Linklaters has hired Shearman & Sterling private equity partner, and Linklaters alumni, Ben Rodham.
Rodham was a managing associate at Linklaters until 2012, when he joined Addleshaws in London as a partner, before making the move to the US firm in 2014.
He will rejoin Linklaters in the New Year.
Linklaters private equity partner Alex Woodward said: "He has worked on a number of high profile and complex transactions in recent years and his arrival will help the continued growth of our private equity practice and enable us to meet the strong demand for our services from key financial sponsor clients."
Rodham's hire will be a boost to the firm's private equity practice following a brace of exits.
In September Linklaters lost private equity partner Roger Johnson to Kirkland & Ellis.
Johnson was head of the firm's Nordic private equity practice and had re-located to London in 2013 from Stockholm after private equity partner duo Ian Bagshaw and Richard Youle left Linklaters for White & Case.
In the same month Linklaters private equity managing associate Carlos Gil Rivas left the firm to join Kirkland as a partner in London.
Linklaters has also made lateral hires in recent months including Baker & McKenzie New York litigation head Douglas Tween and restructuring partner Margot Schonholtz from Wilkie Farr & Gallagher.
In November the firm also hired Bakers London-based litigation global dispute resolution head Thomas Cassels.
