The winner in the diversity category, Hogan Lovells, has put in place ambitious targets for promoting women over the next five years.

The firm's Global Diversity Business Plan, which focuses on the progression of women to partnership and management positions, includes targets with benchmarks and minimum standards set for every office.

The firm has global and regional diversity committees comprising of partners and senior management, as well as a dedicated diversity champion in every office. A board diversity committee has been established to hold international management to account for global diversity targets and ensure gender statistics are monitored in recruitment. Gender diversity is reviewed biannually by the firm's management committees and quarterly by local diversity committees.

So far, Hogan Lovells has increased the number of women promoted globally from 25% in 2012 to 37.5% this year. It has set a target of 25% women partners globally by 2017 and 30% by 2020.

The firm has has exceeded its target of 30% of women in senior management positions by 2015, with the figure standing at 32%, while in London, the proportion of female partners has risen from 22% to 24% over the last three years.

Judges commended the firm for tackling diversity with "clear measureable targets" and "visible leadership across the organisation."
