Nabarro has hired Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) partner Victoria Henry for its City funds and indirect real estate team.
Henry [pictured] joins after over a decade at BLP where she was a founding member of its investment management team. She made partner in 2006 and specialises in real estate funds and cross-border transactions.
She is the latest partner to leave BLP following multiple departures in 2015 including co-head of arbitration Richard Power who left to join Clyde & Co in December and the head of EU and competition David Harrison who joined Mayer Brown in May.
At the same time as hiring Henry, Nabarro has also launched a funds practice for the first time in Singapore with the hire of senior Hogan Lovells associate Matthew Nortcliffe as a partner. He was previously an associate in the same practice at Nabarro in London for five years before joining Hogan Lovells in Singapore in 2010.
The two additions take the number of partners in Nabarro's global funds and indirect real estate team to six. The firm's existing clients in the funds space include the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board, investment business Standard Life, and real estate investment boutique Tristan Capital Partners.
Commenting on the hires, Nabarro senior partner Graham Stedman said: "Securing one of the leading practitioners in the UK market and building a team offering funds advice from our Singapore office is a signal of intent. This investment will ensure we can cement that position and grow our international client base further over the coming years."
Last month, Nabarro also hired two partners and one lawyer for its infrastructure, construction and energy team. These included Irwin Mitchell construction head David Parton in London and White & Case infrastructure senior associate Lucy Polwright. In addition, the firm hired Pinsent Mason's construction partner Chris Hallam in Manchester to set up and head a new construction practice in the city.
BLP's recent partner hires include Baker & Mckenzie's former Myanmar office managing partner, Chris Hughes, who launched the firm's new office in the country in November, and Clyde & Co City insurance partner Geraldine Quirk in August.
