Two further partners exit Jones Day's London office
Addleshaw Goddard and Baker Botts have both made hires from the firm which has seen the exit of eight partners since August

Jones Day has seen another two partners, and one of counsel, leave the firm in London bringing the total number of exits since August in the City to eight.
Baker Botts has hired energy partner Paul Exley from the US-headquartered firm, while real estate partner Iain Hindhaugh has joined Addleshaw Goddard in the City. While Sebastian Orton, former partner at Jones Day who is currently listed as of counsel, is understood to have joined Eversheds.
The firm has seen a spate of exists since August last year with a total of eight partners leaving the firm to join rivals including Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and King & Spalding.
Exley, who focuses his practice on cross-border energy deals, acts for clients including financial institutions, private equity houses and state owned enterprises.
Real estate partner Hindhaugh focuses his practice on investment, development and funding work and has worked with clients including British Land and London Metric.
Addleshaws said the hire was consistent with the firm's plans to target Asian markets such as Taiwan and China due to the amount of inbound investment to UK real estate from the region.
Leona Ahmed, head of the real estate practice at Addleshaw Goddard ssaid: "Iain's reputation is outstanding and we are delighted that he has chosen to join us.
"His proven track record advising major PropCos, combined with our existing capability, will be an attractive proposition in the City, where we are deepening our relationships with leading institutional clients, increasing the value we bring to those relationships, and growing our market share."
Orton, who was made up to partner at Jones Day in 2011, is understood to have joined Eversheds as a partner in the corporate practice. It is not clear when he became of counsel.
The three exits follow that of head of construction and energy arbitration specialist Hamish Lal who joined Akin Gump in January.
Jones Day's head of employment Jules Quinn also left the firm for King & Spalding in December, while Bryan Conway left in August to be a legal consultant after just two years at the firm.
Orrick has picked up private equity partner Weyinmi Popo and banking partner Dominic O'Brien who joined the firm in January and February, respectively.
Indian firm Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan launched its second international office last month hiring Jones Day India partner Sumesh Sawhney to head the base.
In December Jones Day promoted two new partners into its London office as part of 47-strong round.
Addleshaws' hire of Hindhaugh follows the hires of corporate finance partner Giles Distin from Squire Patton Boggs, banking partner Angus Gill from Hogan Lovells, project finance partner Oliver Carruthers, and derivatives specialist Rosalind Mason from Lehman Brothers over the last 12 months.
Jones Day declined to comment.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
