Former Holman Fenwick Willan partner Konstantinos Adamantopoulos has been banned from any UK legal practice after the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found he charged clients for his own holidays and other personal expenses.

Adamantopoulos left the firm in December after a Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal decision found him to have acted "without integrity in respect of three different matters and had been at least objectively dishonest," relating to his time as legacy Hammonds Brussels managing partner. The full details of the judgement were published this week.

Between 2007 and 2009, while working at Hammonds, he charged clients for private holidays in Greece and Swiss ski resort Zermatt.

Competition lawyer Adamantopoulos has been made subject to a section 43 order, which means he is unable to be employed by a solicitors' firm in England or Wales without the permission of the Law Society.

Adamantopoulos, who specialises in EU law, was also ordered to pay £65,000 of costs.

He resigned in 2010 after an internal review by the firm found issues relating to his operation of the firm's drawings policy.

He joined Holman Fenwick as partner in its Brussels office in 2011, after spending time as a consultant following his resignation from legacy Squire Patton Boggs in 2010.

According to Companies House filings Adamantopoulos, who specialises in EU trade and competition law, left Holman Fenwick's partnership on 10 December 2015.

He had previously quit legacy Hammonds in 2006, before rescinding his resignation. His initial resignation was related to the introduction of partnership measures restricting when equity partners could hand in their notice.
