Eight BLM partners resign including the firm's Southampton and Bristol head
Firm hit by wave of resignations in its Southampton office following its decision to put jobs at risk in Manchester

Eight partners have resigned from BLM's Southampton office, including its head of Southampton and Bristol, Michael Renshaw.
The firm currently has 16 partners in Southampton, meaning that it stands to lose half of its partner headcount in its south coast base.
It is not yet clear where the partners are moving to or when they will leave the firm.
In a statement, a BLM spokesperson said: "We have strong relationships with customers currently supported by lawyers in Southampton and have been assured of their continuing support for BLM. We do not anticipate any impact on our existing relationships with those customers."
And added: "The firm continues to attract talented people from within the industry and we look forward to announcing a number of key appointments at the firm in the very near future."
Office head Renshaw is part of the firm's catastrophic injury group. He is an insurance defence litigator and made partner in 1998.
The departures follow the firm's decision in February to put the jobs of three fraud partners and their teams at risk of redundancy. The teams in its Manchester office have been put at risk as it looks to create a "centre of excellence" for fraud work in Birmingham, over 80 miles away.
The firm's revenue surpassed £100m in 2014-15 for the first time following a series of mergers.
In the year to the end of March 2015 the firm reported revenue of £104.1m, up from £89.1m the previous year.
Its net profit also grew, to £18.3m up from £15.7m. The firm's profit per equity (PEP) partner also grew from £245,000 to £265,000.
The firm merged with Scottish firm HBM Sayers in May 2014 and Northern Ireland risk and insurance firm Campbell Fitzpatrick Solicitors in December 2014.

The complaint, filed Aug. 27 in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court by Brodsky & Smith on behalf of Hung Trinh, accuses the defendant of discharging polluted stormwater from its steel facility without a permit in violation of the Clean Water Act. According to the complaint, the defendants made a series of misrepresentations about Orthofix’s disclosure controls and internal controls over financial reporting and ethical compliance.
