Pinsent Masons banking and finance litigation head, Michael Isaacs, has been seconded to Barclays' litigation and investigations team.

Isaacs, who has headed Pinsent's banking litigation team since joining from Addleshaw Goddard in 2013, started the secondment on Monday (11 April) and will be with the bank for at least three or four months.

He will form part of the bank's litigation and investigations team, which is led by Stephanie Pagni.

The move comes as the bank is mid-way through a review of its legal panel. The tender process kicked off in late March with the panel set to be finalised by 30 June.

Barclays' said that it plans to "rationalise" its use of firms to boost efficiencies.
It currently works with 350-400 law firms worldwide, but it is expected that number will fall as a result of the review.

Isaacs was previously seconded to Barclays' litigation team in 2009.

Pinsents sits on Barclays' current legal panel and Isaacs is the firm's Barclays' relationship partner.

During the bank's previous review in 2014 its panel was cut by 30%.
UK firms currently on the panel include Addleshaw Goddard, Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, DLA Piper, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Linklaters, Hogan Lovells and Simmons & Simmons.
