Dentons' NextLaw Labs start-up has appointed two senior general counsel (GC) to the company's advisory board.
Senior vice president and head of legal for the UK and Ireland, Russia and CIS, Middle East and Africa (UKIEMEA) of logistics company Deutsche Post DHL Keith Austin and energy company Total's senior legal counsel, Gaston Bilder, have joined the board. The pair joined in January this year.
Dan Jansen, CEO of NextLaw Labs said the pair joining the board was "a critical step" in the development of the company.
He added: "With their significant industry experience as well as their international background, we are excited to be building an advisory board which is more representative of the global legal industry and the growth of legal tech in Europe."
A wholly owned subsidiary of Dentons, NextLaw Labs launched in May 2015 and invests in and develops new technologies designed to assist and transform how lawyers work.
Earlier this year the company announced its second investment, signing up start-up Apperio - which aims to change how law firms handle case management.
Following the addition of Bilder and Austin the advisory board now has five members including founder of technology training company Procreates and former GC of Kia Motors Casey Flaherty.
The firm said it is looking to expand the advisory board further and is actively seeking new candidates.
NextLaw Labs is currently based in Palo Alto in California but Dentons has plans to open bases for it in London and Asia.
