Irwin Mitchell has added 13 new partners in its 2016 promotions round as TLT has added four.
Eight of the new Irwin Mitchell partners are in the personal legal services division, four in the business legal services division and one at Irwin Mitchell Asset Management, its financial management arm.
Last year the firm added seven new partners, five in the personal legal services division one in business legal services and a non-lawyer, Michelle Beat, the firm's head of business development for its personal legal services division.
This year the firm promoted Ed Tomlinson to associate director, the firm's non-lawyer partner equivalent. Tomlinson is a chartered financial planner in the firm's asset management business.
Irwin Mitchell's alternative business structure (ABS) status allows it to promote non-lawyers to its partnership.
Six of the 13 promoted are women and two of the promoted partners trained with the firm.
Andrew Tucker, Irwin Mitchell's chief executive, said: "Added to the extensive investment we have made in our business over the past year, these appointments show the range of experience we have to offer clients and leave us in a good position to continue our growth plans."
Irwin Mitchell merged with Thomas Eggar in 2015 to create a law firm with revenue of approximately £250m.
Meanwhile, TLT has added four new partners in its 2016 round of promotions to take its total partnership to 115.
In 2015 the Bristol-headquartered firm added six new partners, compared to four additions to the partnership in both 2014 and 2013.
The latest promotions are in the real estate, energy, banking and private client practices.
Two of the four new partners are women.
TLT has also promoted 14 associates to legal director and 22 solicitors to associate.
The firm's senior partner, Andrew Glynn, said: "Our internal promotions recognise the role all our people play in the success of our UK wide growth strategy.
"That success is grounded both in what value we create for our clients and the opportunities we can provide our people. Those now promoted have the ability and drive to help the firm build sustainable long-term growth."
Other firms that have previously announced their 2016 partner promotions include Burges Salmon, which also promoted four to the partnership, and Nabarro which added five new partners.
