KBH Kaanuun owed its triumph in this category to the "compelling evidence" it provided for each of the entry criteria, the judges said.
They added that the firm had showed "significant contributions in the form of groundbreaking cases, important precedents and innovation in its litigation funding arrangements".
KBH is a boutique based in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), with additional offices in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The firm has been at the cutting edge of legal developments in the region, particularly in the DIFC where it has worked on a number of cases that set new legal precedents.
Examples of the firm's innovative approach include its use of litigation funding to fund an entire case in a financial mis-selling matter, conducting proceedings in the UK from the DIFC, and testing what amounts to a 'reasonable employer' under DIFC Employment Law.
The firm's claimant-led litigation practice is characterised by its willingness to adopt creative fee structures, including conditional fee arrangements and the use of litigation funding support.
In the last financial year, KBH has achieved particularly significant litigation victories against a major financial institution and one of the biggest property developers in the UAE.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls.
