Withers has promoted seven lawyers to partner across its Asia, US and European offices.

The promotions, which took effect on 1 July, take the firm's partnership to 168 members.

Four of the new partners are women, equivalent to 57% of the new intake.

In 2015, the firm added five new partners – two of which were women.

Managing director Margaret Robertson said the promotions "showcased the skills and diversity" of the firm's lawyers.

She added: "They are all leading lawyers in their fields and will be invaluable in helping us to integrate our teams following the investment we have made in our significant global expansion in 2015 and 2016."

Only one of the new partners is based in London, with three in Asia, two in the US and one in Switzerland.

The firm has promoted four to partnership in its wealth, planning and tax team and one each in its family, litigation and real estate teams.
