Kennedys has continued to expand in Latin America, with office openings in Chile and Colombia.

The latest openings follow its launches in Brazil and Peru last month.

In Chile, Kennedys is merging with its former associate firm Sateler Depolo Diemoz Abogados.

The 13-strong team is led by partners Ricardo Sateler, Radoslav Depolo and Mario Diemoz and focuses on litigation and arbitration in the insurance sector.

The firm's new Bogota-based Colombian arm is led by partners Mónica Tocarruncho Mantilla and Andrea Londoño Agudelo.

Mantilla joins the firm from insurer Royal and Sun Alliance Colombia, where she was general counsel.

Agudelo joins from DLA Piper Martínez Neira, where she was head of its Colombian insurance law practice.

The firm has also hired two associates from local firms Diaz Granados and Correa Abogados, to help build out the practice.

Kennedys senior partner Nick Thomas said: "These latest office openings further reinforce our strategy to establish a presence in key Latin American jurisdictions. They complement our well established Latin America hub in Miami by providing on-the-ground expertise."

Last month, the firm opened offices in Sao Paulo in Brazil and Lima in Peru to expand its Latin American insurance law practice.

In January, the firm entered into an association in Argentina with Buenos Aires-based firm Alberto Bunge & Asociados. It also has associate offices in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and Mexico City in Mexico.
