Proskauer Rose has seen two of its London partners exit for Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, and Morrison & Foerster.
Gibson Dunn has hired Proskauer private equity partner James Howe. He departs after just over a year at the firm. He joined in June from Kirkland & Ellis, where he had been a partner since 2011.
MoFo has recruited Proskauer funds partner Oliver Rochman for its corporate practice in London.
Chair of Gibson Dunn's London corporate practice Charlie Geffen said: "James is a rising star in the London private equity arena. He has excellent technical skills and the combination of his intellect, energy and ambition will ensure his success on our platform."
Other recent hires for Gibson Dunn in London include financial regulatory partner James Perry from Ashurst in April.
Meanwhile, MoFo has hired Rochman as it seeks to bolster its European corporate capabilities.
MoFo's managing partner Eric Piesner, with responsibility for Asia and global head of the firm's private fund investment practice, said: "Oliver is the firm's first dedicated funds partner to join our European platform and helps us build out our global private investment funds practice. Oliver's capability in London will help continued growth."
In March, the firm added a pair of Latham & Watkins corporate lawyers in London. This followed the hire of two laterals from Latham in London in 2015, including global-co chair of the M&A practice Graeme Sloan.
The latest hire take the firm's total number of City corporate partners to five. Elsewhere in Europe, where it has offices in Brussels and Berlin, it has three corporate partners in the German capital.
Rochman will also be the second Proskauer partner to depart for MoFo during the past 12 months, after former colleague and fellow funds partner Jason Nelms joined the firm's private investment practice in Hong Kong in November.
However, Proskauer has also hired laterals this year. Yesterday (30 August), private equity partner Eleanor Shanks joined the firm's London office from Dentons.
