mishcon-de-reya-africa-house-Article-201607180545 Mishcon de Reya has hired Pinsent Masons' co-head of funds, Daniel Greenaway, as a partner in its corporate practice.

Greenaway has been a partner at Pinsents since 2011 and advises fund managers raising capital from private and institutional investors across real assets, private equity and credit.

Prior to joining Pinsents as a partner, he was a senior associate at legacy SJ Berwin for five years.

He joined Mishcon yesterday (12 September).

Mishcon head of corporate Nick Davis said: "Daniel is an important addition to our growing funds and financial services group; his expertise will be vital in expanding our offering to clients."

The firm has made several hires this year to its UK ranks.

In July, it hired Clyde & Co private client partner Martin Davies, who has a longstanding relationship with the Saudi royal family. Davies was previously head of Howard Kennedy's international team.

Meanwhile, at the beginning of the year it hired insurance litigation partner Sonia Campbell from Addleshaw Goddard and Nick West, the London general manager of alternative legal services provider Axiom, as chief strategy officer at the firm.

In contrast, it has slimmed down in the US, with the departure of half of its New York partnership.

The departures and a review of the practice have seen partner count in New York fall from six to three, with lawyer headcount falling by three to 12.

New York head of litigation Joshua Sohn, New York family law head Michael Stutman and family partner Valerie Tocci have all left the firm.

None of the lawyers, including the three partners, will be replaced.
