King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) and BLP are advising on the development of Apple's new London headquarters at Battersea Power Station.

The tech giant is set to become the largest individual tenant in the Battersea Power Station redevelopment, the value of which has been estimated at £9bn.

Apple is set to move into its new office space – which will be one of its largest in Europe – in 2021. It is expected to house around 1,400 staff.

KWM is advising the Battersea Power Station Development Company with a team led by real estate partner and former European managing partner William Boss, and real estate partner Simon Tager.

Boss's longstanding clients include Marks & Spencer and the Crown Estate. He stepped down from the role of European managing partner at the start of this year and his replacement is currently being voted on, with tax partner Gareth Amdor and corporate partner Tim Bednall contesting the position.

BLP is understood to be advising Apple, although the firm declined to comment.

Apple is currently contesting a €13bn European Union (EU) tax bill and is understood to have instructed Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

After a three-year investigation, the EU Commission concluded earlier this year that Apple's Irish tax benefits are illegal. Ireland and Apple both said they disagreed with the ruling and that they would appeal against it.
