Olswang head of restructuring Alicia Videon has left the firm in the midst of its three-way merger talks with CMS and Nabarro.

Videon is set to join McDermott Will & Emery as a partner in its London transactions practice.

She moved to Olswang in 2008 from DLA Piper, where she had been a partner for three years after joining from Hogan Lovells.

During her time at Olswang, Videon coordinated the firm's 'special situations' group, set up since the financial recession. More recently, she was responsible for fielding questions related to the Brexit vote this summer.

Her exit comes days after Olswang confirmed it was in merger talks with CMS and Nabarro (30 September). The trio are in discussions about a three-way merger that could create a firm with combined revenue of almost £1bn, including turnover from the global CMS network.

Olswang has seen a raft of other senior exits such as property (IP) partner and co-head of life sciences Stephen Reese, who joined Clifford Chance yesterday (3 October).

Other departures include Olswang funds and regulatory partner Barry Stimpson, who joined Bond Dickinson's corporate department in July; former London competition head Howard Cartlidge, who is set to join DWF in September; head of telecommunications Purvi Parekh, who left in August; and former head of corporate, private equity and venture capital Stephen Rosen, who joined Cooley's new London office in January this year.
