paris2_616x372 Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has ramped up its Paris dispute resolution ranks with partner hires from Allen & Overy (A&O) and Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF).

A&O's global co-head of arbitration, Michael Young, is set to join the firm alongside HSF's head of Paris disputes, Isabelle Michou.

Young joined A&O in 2011 from HSF, alongside two other partners, helping to build a full-service disputes practice in Paris for the magic circle firm.

He specialises in international arbitration, with a particular focus on energy, chemicals and natural resources disputes.

Michou has been at HSF for 18 years and specialises in international arbitration and international law. She has represented a broad array of clients, including large corporations in industries such as hospitality, oil and gas, aerospace, and large infrastructure projects.

Quinn Emanuel managing partner John Quinn said of her hire: "Our international arbitration practice is growing quickly, particularly in Paris. Isabelle is one of the top arbitration advocates in Europe. She will provide more depth to an already deep bench."

Last month, Quinn boosted its London ranks with the hire of Macfarlanes' financial services head David Berman.

A&O declined to comment. Quinn declined to comment on Young's hire.
