Mayer Brown promotes London duo to partner in 21-strong global round
US firm adds litigation and intellectual property lawyers to City partnership

Mayer Brown has promoted two lawyers from its London office to partner as part of a 21-strong global round of promotions.
Litigation and dispute resolution lawyer Jonathan Stone and intellectual property lawyer Oliver Yaros (pictured) have both been made up in London.
Stone is a member of the firm's construction and engineering practice, and a significant part of his work involves advising insurers and professionals in the defense of professional indemnity claims. He qualified as a lawyer 12 years ago and joined Mayer Brown in 2012.
Yaros, meanwhile, advises clients on TMT, outsourcing, IT, data protection and privacy, e-commerce and IP transactions and issues. He acts on global financial industry utility projects, technology and business process outsourcing projects and IT systems procurement transactions. He trained at the firm and qualified in 2006
Two partners were also made up in the US firm's City base last year.
Mayer Brown's domestic US offices once again saw the bulk of the firm's promotions, with 17 lawyers made up. One partner was made up in both Rio de Janeiro and Hong Kong.
The firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice saw the most new partners, with seven joining.
A third of the total amount of partners made up were women, with seven made up globally.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
