frankfurt-skyline-web_616x372 Squire Patton Boggs has added three partners to its Frankfurt office with the hire of a team from US rival Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr

Former WilmerHale Frankfurt managing partner and intellectual property (IP) and trademark litigator Reinhart Lange is joining Squire Patton Boggs, along with fellow IP partner Christofer Eggers.

The duo are accompanied by counsel Eva Schalast, who joins as a partner, as well as a five-strong brand management team.

Lange was managing partner of WilmerHale's Frankfurt office from 2008 until this year. His practice focuses on IP issues and litigation involving unfair competition. He has advised domestic and foreign clients on trademark issues and the administration of trademark portfolios, as well as unfair competition, passing off and license agreements.

Eggers' practice focuses on litigation, competition, regulatory and IP law and he has a specific focus on market branded consumer goods.

George von Mehren, the global chair of Squire Patton Boggs' international dispute resolution practice, said: "We have a strong cartel litigation and competition dispute practice in Germany and this team's arrival, coupled with the continued growth in competition-related litigation, will lead to further opportunities for the expansion of our practice."

The hires come not long after Squire Patton Boggs recruited King & Wood Mallesons energy partner Neil Upton, alongside a team of four lawyers from the embattled firm. The firm recently elected Europe, Middle East and Africa corporate chair Jane Haxby as its new European managing partner.
