Linklaters has boosted its City litigation practice with the hire of Goldman Sachs managing director Susana Cao Miranda.

Cao Miranda is a managing director and senior counsel at Goldman, where she focuses on litigation and contentious regulatory work in the financial services sector.

She was appointed as managing director in January 2016, having previously been an executive director. She was previously a senior associate at Herbert Smith Freehills between 2002 and 2010.

The magic circle firm's disputes head, Michael Bennett, said that Cao Miranda would be a "valuable addition to our team".

Recent disputes hires for Linklaters include Douglas Tween, formerly Baker & McKenzie's global head of white collar crime, who joined the firm in New York in October 2015. In November 2015, the firm also hired Bakers' global disputes head Tom Cassels.

Meanwhile, last February Linklaters hired white-collar crime and civil disputes partner Adam Lurie from Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft in Washington DC.

Other law firms to have hired from Goldman in recent years include Weil Gotshal & Manges, which recruited restructuring heavyweight Andrew Wilkinson in 2014.
