Hong Kong collage-Feat-201701270924Senior lawyers from companies including Colgate-Palmolive, Telstra and BT will set the agenda at the sixth annual Corporate Counsel Forum Hong Kong later this month, with subjects including milennials, disruptors and respect for in-house lawyers up for discussion.

The event, which will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong on 22 February, will see more than 300 corporate counsel gather to take part in a full day of interactive workshops, panel discussion and keynote presentations.

Lisa Mather, Asia-Pacific division GC for Colgate-Palmolive, will lead a panel session on one of the key challenges for in-house counsel looking to be an integral part of their company – earning the respect of their business counterparts. Lawyers including BT's northeast Asia and Japan head of legal Lara Lightbody will discuss how in-house counsel can change the way senior management view them.

Meanwhile, in a presentation kicking off the day, Telstra finance and strategy GC Mick Sheehy will talk about the innovation that has been a driving force behind the growth of Telstra's legal function, as innovation in legal operations takes on a critical role for effective in-house teams.

The event will also feature panel debates on managing millennials – which will look at the conflict between tech-savvy millennial workers and their older, more conservative legal peers – and diversity and inclusion, led by by Dell's Asia-Pacific and Japan diversity and inclusion lead Sophie Guerin.
