Eversheds Sutherland appoints new leaders for corporate and human resources groups
Corporate partner Keri Rees to succeed managing partner-elect Keith Froud as company commercial head

Eversheds Sutherland has appointed new leadership for two of its practice groups, with corporate partner Keri Rees taking over as company commercial head from Keith Froud, who is set to become the firm's managing partner.
Rees, who was previously the head of the firm's M&A team in the Midlands, has been at the firm since 1995. Key deals he has worked on include the AIM IPO of UK clothing and lifestyle company Joules in 2016.
The firm has also appointed a new leader for its human resources practice, which encompasses areas such as pensions and employment. Longstanding head Martin Warren is returning to fee earning after around 10 years in the post, and will be replaced by UK education head Diane Gilhooley.
The firm has recently made a number of other changes to its management structure. Managing partner Lee Ranson will replace Bryan Hughes as Eversheds chief executive this May, taking up a four-year term that will see him work alongside Sutherland managing partner Mark Wasserman as joint CEOs of the combined firm. Meanwhile, current international managing partner Ian Gray will take a new role as executive partner.
Ranson, Gray and Froud are part of a six-strong global management team alongside Wasserman, Sutherland real estate head Victor Haley and insurance partner Thomas Gick, who will be replaced in April by corporate partner Cynthia Krus.
Eversheds merged with US firm Sutherland Asbill & Brennan on 1 February, rebranding as Eversheds Sutherland. The firms will remain financially independent, coming together as a company limited by guarantee, an arrangement used by the UK's Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co and Canada's Gowlings in their 2016 combination.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
